lovely to meet you, I’m Alex.

I’ve spent all of my career, (and the best part of 20 years) working for and with charities. I started as a volunteer when I was a student, and ended up as a senior leader.

  • I know how much making a difference means to you.

  • I know how difficult it feels to be constantly firefighting.

  • I know how it feels to give your all, but have little left for yourself.

  • I know the feeling of guilt, when you feel pulled between family and work, and that you’re falling short everywhere.

  • I know that impossible feeling of whether you should stay or go.

  • I know that work feels like family, even if it’s a dysfunctional one.

  • I know how responsible you feel for the wellbeing of your teams, and the communities you serve.

  • And I know that making a difference starts with you, your charity can’t thrive if you’re only just surviving.

I know many senior leaders are struggling to make a difference at work, and feel happy & fulfilled outside of work. It feels like something has to give, but it doesn’t have to be you. You can create a life and career which makes a difference without sacrificing yourself.

My clients have:

  • Found ways to better balance work and life.

  • Learnt how to prioritise their happiness.

  • Stopped themselves from burning out.

  • Moved on to new charity roles.

  • Moved into new sectors.

  • Found other ways to make a difference outside of work.
